“In just 3 days, Poopy’s (20 yr old) eye is looking soooo much better. Dr Ahalt is the BEST and we are incredibly grateful for his wonderful “bedside manner” with the humans, compassion, knowledge, professionalism and wonderful staff!! we were lucky to had been referred to him over 25 yrs ago as a second opinion for a cat we had that was going to be put down by another vets office for “mouth cancer”..... NOT!! Dr A said it looked like a chemical burn of some kind from possibly chewing on an electrical wire or something oddly consumed. Cat was treated and lived another 15 yrs to the ripe old age of 22!!
We have another success story with Dr A, but that mini-series story is for another time! Poopy and I will be back in two weeks for follow up visit!!”

“Dynamite is new to our family, and has had some really poor vet experiences (even in just the short time we’ve had him). Not only did his previous vet freak Dyno out, they were abundantly rude and unprofessional when I interacted with the office staff.
However, at Jefferson, we’re told he did GREAT!! And I have never had a negative interaction with the office staff (you guys are so wonderful)! When Gabby came out to get him, I knew we’d be in good hands. Bear (our late beloved Newfie mix) loved Gabby - she has a calming way about her. We also really appreciate the thorough exam Dr. A gave Dyno too. We were really worried he had torn his ACL, but thankfully we got a much more optimistic prognosis.
But most of all, thank you so much for fitting us in so quickly and just being your amazing selves. And thank you again for taking such good care of Dyno - and Bear! We appreciate it more than words can express.”

“I had such a thorough, patient experience yesterday with my Hunny...an almost 3 yr patient here. She had a skin thing, itching, and I am in between clients right now and was concerned about the bill. Not only did the tech and doc take so much time with me explaining what everything would cost...everything I could wait on, and adding it all up for me so patiently... They also fixed Hunny up so good, as she even had a little ear infection. The doc went on to see my nervousness at cleaning my dogs ears, and even got out a cross section model of a dogs ear canal for reassurance I wouldn’t go in too far. They are always so thorough and nice with Hunny and her mom:))) And I always get in right away. Really love all the vets and techs there. So does my dog!”

“When moving to Brunswick area in 2004, Jefferson Veterinary Hospital has been my primary source for my pets. Dr. Ahalt have always been there to give my pets their utmost attention, the staff as well. When walking into either office one feels the love and compassion that everyone has for your pet. My puppy and cat both get terrific treatment from the staff and the Vets. The care and concern my babies receive is always top quality. When an emergency arose for my pup, they took her in right away and kept me informed on her condition, and afterwards I was contacted to see how she was doing. I also get plenty of warning when an appointment is needed for either one, even Birthday cards for them, how cool is that. The entire staff is terrific, the quality of care is outstanding one is totally at ease knowing that your babies are in capable hands.”

“Dr. Ahalt was recommended to me by a friend who drives 45 mins out of her way to come to this hospital, and I am so glad that she did. Dr. Ahalt is very friendly and personable and takes his time to listen to any of my (often stupid sounding) questions and is clear and concise in his answers. He has a sense of humor and is down to earth, but sensitive when things are not going well - he euthanized my sick elderly dog and was so compassionate and understanding. I always feel my dogs and cats are in good hands here and trust Dr. Ahalt and the staff with them. I have contacted Dr. Ahalt out of hours and he helped me over the phone and saved me $$$$$ in emergency hospital visits. The rates are excellent and the service offered is great. “Our Pomeranian Sophie had kidney failure and was being treated at Jefferson Veterinary Hospital. The care givers at the hospital treated Sophie as if she belonged to them. Dr Kalf and Dr Ahalt both called on Sophie to follow up on her. Like humans our fury love ones can’t live forever. Dr. Ahalt showed so much compassion to Sophie, my wife and I when it was time for Sophie to go. Although Sophie is no longer with us in person she will always live in our hearts.
